RICHARDSON FAMILY 1853
Hello and welcome to the family!
Since slavery and the awareness brought about by Alex Haley we all have in one way or another tried to find out where we came from and to find other family members we did not know we had. In opening this site I hope to honor my mother who started to inquire back in the 1980's by finishing her work, and broadening her expectations.

MISSION STATEMENT
Through slavery a lot of our heritage, culture, brother and sisterhood has been displaced, and fragmented as well as our family members.
Our mission is to:
-
Create a medium to reconnect, support, and elevate as many members of our family as possible.
-
To educate our youth to the struggles of our ancestors, to enlighten them to our continued struggle, and to be forever vigilant. because suppresion never sleeps. To instill in them the need to continue our struggle while planting seeds to continue passing on their rich heritage.
-
To provide a chance to continue to find lost/unknown facts of our history so we can remember, and strive forward to create unity. In doing this our future selves will be able to see their reflections in the hearts of the old, the young and pave the way for the future.
When we acknowledge and celebrate our past, our outlook will advance to a greater awareness so we can educate our future youth to their greatest potentials; so that they realize the importance of keeping this tradition alive and flourishing, to secure our future as a family.
